About the Event

Travel back in time to the 1950s and 1960s when the Lotus Skyliners were a highly sought after Japanese American swing band that played in and around Seattle and up and down the West Coast. A newly-released book “The Lotus Skyliners – How a Big Band Lifts Up a Small Community” summarizes the experiences of the teenage band members before, during, and after World War II. Make your plans to attend the first in-person book signing event at the venue where the band practiced and performed seventy years ago.

  • Purchase your book, have it signed, listen to live music, and meet some of the former Skyliners band members
  • LIVE MUSIC: “Unforgettable” songs performed by Pat & Rich2 Quartet
  • Light refreshments

This event is partially funded by generous grants from the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe and King County 4Culture.
